This is the first time I have ever read a book written by a dog and I actually read it in one evening as I couldn't put it down. Chapter after chapter I was intrigued as to what was happening with Jacob. It was truly gripping and at times intense. I laughed, I cried and I smiled. This author can actually see what a dog is thinking and anyone considering taking on a rescue dog MUST read this wonderful story.

Once I started reading this I kept going until the end. Both heart wrenching and heart-warming this book is a little gem. You will need a box of tissues nearby, but it also has some lovely humour and most importantly some educational tips on helping a poor confused dog get over an awful start in life.

This is an uplifting account told through a dog’s eyes and I loved it. It is simple but underneath the surface it has so many elements related to human behaviour, both good and not so good but giving us hope. As with many great books, it can be read on many levels and so is universally suitable for any age, gender or background. A brilliant journey through Jacob’s world!

Although this had a happy ending it was quite upsetting at the beginning, I almost didn’t read it. Anyway I did and finished it in one sitting, a lovely story and a great insight into how we need to put ourselves inside our dogs mind.
Made me give my pooch extra cuddles which is not a bad thing! Everyone who is thinking of getting a puppy should read this first.

A remarkably insightful story novelly written, as the title implies from the dog’s perspective. At times harrowing, often humorous, but mostly heart-warming this book was unputdownable and l found myself reading it into the wee hours. A ‘must’ for dog lovers of all ages l eagerly await the sequel, Ms Holland.

No spoilers, but do be prepared to have a box of tissues handy. As with Jacob's Journal, this book makes an invaluable guide and must read to anyone considering adopting dogs in similar situations. It is also a great read for teenagers and young adults (and not so young adults). An easy 5 stars!

We thoroughly enjoyed the book .... it was such an easy and enjoyable read. Started sad but had a very happy ending .. this has got to be another movie! Was happy to learn that the puppy with hip dysplasia was able to get better after hydro exercises.

Holland does it again. She brings a new story filled with furry friends, which is both fun and enchanting. Her love of animals definitely shows, and with this story, Jasper, has fun being himself and playing with his pup siblings. I love when Jasper and Penny have a tug-of-war with a pillow and then make it snow. The pups are naughty and have grand fun, and so did I, reading this wonderful story. When Holland writes it, I will read it.

I loved this book. It is ideal for children, they can really engage with the individual dogs. It is also great for adults - if you want a joyful book to help you relax and laugh out loud I would recommend this book. As I was reading it my imagination was right there with Jasper and his Furry Friends. They sound a joyful, mischievous gang of dogs.

I have read these stories of Jasper & his furry friends to several children who really enjoyed following their adventures, engaging with the charming characters, well- illustrated with real photos!! BTW the larger, clear print format makes it easy for Grannies & Great Aunts like me, as well as young readers. We look forward to more adventures of these delightful, mischievous dogs, with which animal lovers can identify.

This book is such a sweet find. If you have dogs and ever put words into their mouths then this is certainly for you. I smiled all the way through. One of my dogs is called Lexi and she came to life with the well-spoken words of the narrator. Although my Lexi is quite a lot naughtier. I'm a hardened horror fan and I am utterly charmed by my deviation into a very different genre. Will certainly check out other titles from this talented author. Quite delightful and humorous. Off to talk to my dogs now.
