Humans have always created monsters - both real and imagined. What's fascinating is how real the imagined can become.
This 3-book set spans a period from 1818 to 2020 and yet there's a common thread that will always be the case - if we can imagine it, then it is possible. What's really frightening is when we lose the ability to establish between the two.
We lose our minds to the monsters we create....

It’s 1987. John Crane is falling into depression, while his friend Jack Vain has spiraling O.C.D. and panic attacks. Their issues are driving them into a shared psychosis. When the body of a junkie is dumped outside the door of Jack's New York apartment, they reach a tipping point. No longer able to distinguish between reality and the illusions of their fertile minds, they go searching for answers in the middle of the night, on the streets of the city. The creature that taunts them is here. It knows them. It wants them. As John and Jack hunt, psychologist Dr Brooke Ashley and FBI agent Thomas Thorne are also on the case.
As the beast of insanity takes hold, will John and Jack survive their own imaginations until Ashley & Thorne can track down the monster from their past?

Ivan, a journalist, is desperate to leave the tyrannical Eastern European country that is his home and seek asylum in the US. Silenced by his bosses and rejected by his family for his views, his only joy in life is his daughter Olga.
Escaping the city, he visits his grandma in a remote village and finds her and the residents living in fear after the abduction of many young girls. The kidnaps are rumoured to be the work of some kind of monster living in a forest cave. When Ivan is pursued by abductors himself, he takes a chance to flee to the US, leaving his wife and daughter behind. After settling, he learns his own daughter is missing too and to cope with the stress, he turns to Dr Brooke Ashley for help - who in turn calls in FBI agent Thorn to find clues about Olga's disappearance. But then Ivan disappears too...
I live in Switzerland and am a writer, dancer and actress. My novels, though fiction, were written in part based on my own life experiences - having spent time in my 20's dealing with severe OCD and anxiety.
The mind's capacity for playing games with us has fascinated me ever since. This sense of confusion between reality and illusion is more common than we know and leaves us swimming in a sea that seems never ending.
Jack and John's predicaments in Becoming Insane are not far from the place that many people find themselves in - perhaps in some ways that's what makes reading this a chilling experience - we could all quite easily find ourselves in that place.
But there's always a way back...
